Duties include the use of laser programming software to lay out a set of parts onto a sheet of metal. Parts are provided by other Engineers on 2D cad files, and these must be programmed onto a sheet based on the sizes and quantities of parts needed, and the material needed. Materials can be various types of sheet metals, of varying thicknesses. Stock levels of remnants must be accounted for and tracked, and used if possible. The programmer must be able to confer with the design Engineers, the Fabrication Shop Coordinator/Foreman, the CNC Laser Operator, and others to properly perform the job.

Summary
Duties include mechanical machinery design, including new machines and modifications of existing designs, using 3D design software such as Inventor, as well as Vault software. Design, detailing and checking is required. Part and BOM creation within the ERP system is required. Drawing packages are released to the Job Coordinator. Designers are expected to collaborate with production supervisors for optimum design, in consideration of cost of manufacturing, and ease of build. They are expected to follow the designs through production, correcting non-conformances.

Summary
The Fabrication Shop Foreman is responsible for directing the workflow and priorities of the Fabrication Dept. for Glassline Corp. in order to meet all build schedules. They direct and supervise the fabrication shop employees, including the fabricators within the NSEP Division. They communicate and coordinate with other Staff such as the Job Coordinator, Supply Chain Manager, Machine Shop Foreman, Assembly Foreman, Engineering, as well as other Staff to ensure both internal and external Customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions

  • Attend weekly production meetings and ensure understanding of schedule requirements and priorities. Communicate daily with other Staff on prioritizing and scheduling work in conjunction with other Divisions and departments.

  • Schedule hours and organize work flow for all manpower, equipment(laser, bender, saws, drill, welders, burn, shear) and duties of the fabrication shop/s to ensure an efficient flow of product as well as manpower efficiency.

  • Supervise fabrication shop employees, ensuring they are meeting expectations of performance and following procedures, and coaching them for improvement. Check employee clock hours daily to ensure correct entries, and ensure they are corrected.

  • Maintain inventory for shop supplies and essentials, such as welding supplies, laser supplies, tooling, regrinds, oils, coolants, maintenance parts, safety equipment, etc.

  • Maintain inventory, and/or ensure materials are purchased as needed, for production materials needed for jobs, in order to meet delivery schedules.

  • Assist Machine Shop Foreman as needed by controlling the purchasing of tooling, shop supplies, etc..

  • To ensure timely deliveries, assist in finding outside subcontactors for work that cannot be done in-house, or for work overflow.

  • Assist Sales as needed in Costing and quoting Fabrication work

Summary

The position is responsible for programming of machines and systems being produced at Glassline Corporation. These may be glass(e.g. flat glass) processing machines, food(e.g. fresh produce) processing machines, or packaging machines, depending on the Glassline Corp. Division that requires the work. The team member should have a thorough understanding of PLC programming concepts, generally speaking. Depending on the skill set of the individual, responsibilities can vary. Glassline builds sophisticated PC based CNC machines, servo/motion controlled machines, and PLC controlled machines. Other divisions require generally only PLC programming. HMI programming is also typically required. Again, depending on the skillset, a machine or system will be given to the programmer as a job, working alone or with other programmers. It requires working with the Controls Design group, Mechanical Engineering, and Sales, to understand the requirements of the machine and/or system. Once the machine is programmed, it must be tested prior to shipping. The programmer should have troubleshooting abilities to be able to assist other technicians in diagnosing issues and correcting those issues, whether hardware or software. The programmer is then generally required to travel to the Customer site to assist with startup in the factory. Therefore the individual is expected to have a professional demeanor and good communication skills for Customer interaction. The position requires approx.. 20-30% travel, of typically short durations of 1 day to 1-2 weeks.

  • Work with Controls Design to ensure hardware includes features required for optimum operation.

  • Assist Assembly Dept. with startup of machine on factory floor

Summary

The position is responsible for the installation, startup assistance, and servicing of Glassline Corp. machinery of various types. These may be glass processing machines, food processing machines, or packaging machines, depending on the Division that requires the work. Installation may involve marking centerlines, manipulating machines into position, leveling, anchoring, reassembly, re-wiring, re-plumbing, etc. to bring the machine to operational readiness. After installation, the technician may be involved in troubleshooting any problems found after installation. Besides installation, existing machines my need to be serviced. This may include visits to the Customer’s site for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting problems, making recommendations for parts that are required, and generally helping the Customer with any problems that they may have with the machine, within the power and knowledge of the technician. When not in the field, the technician may be required to help assemble machinery, startup machinery on Glassline Corporation’s factory floor, and training of other individuals.

Essential Functions

  • Travel to customer plant site/s to assist Customer with install, and starting up machine. Test machine to Customer satisfaction. Report issues to staff for corrective action and/or future improvements.

  • Travel to Customer site for machinery service, maintenance, training, etc.

Summary

The Machine Assembly position is responsible for the building of Glassline Corp. machinery of various types. These may be glass processing machines, food processing machines, or packaging machines, depending on the Division that requires the work. Machine assembly requires reading of blueprints, organizing of parts, and assembling parts onto the machines according to the blueprints. Basic mechanic knowledge is required, to select proper tools, hardware, fasteners, threadlock, etc. Many of this knowledge can be trained. Capable assemblers would be tasked with precision alignment, using indicators, as required for the machine. Additional tasks for assembly include pneumatic/water plumbing and electrical wiring as per the individual’s capabilities. Assemblers often assist with the installation of the machines at the Customer site.

  • Assemble machine frames together, and assemble parts onto machine frames according to blueprints.
